Consumers are demanding faster page loading times. If a website loads slowly, it hurts the User Experience and your chances of converting that customer drops significantly.
Just like you, Search Engines want their customers to have a great experience with their results so they’ll continue to use them. If the customer leaves Google because the sites they’re promoting are slow, Google loses money.
Therefore, there is a large financial incentive to include fast sites at the top of the Search Results Page. By speeding up the loading times of your site, you can take advantage of this update and increase your conversions organically.
While speed itself won’t automatically rank you #1 in the search engines, it is a big factor Google takes into account.
On July 9th, 2018, Google announced their “Speed Update” which says page speed will be a ranking factor for mobile searches. This means that if your website loads slowly on mobile, you will be ranked lower.
Since most websites still load relatively slowly, this is a great opportunity to rank higher by improving your speed!
We can optimize most platform websites including WordPress, BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and many others. We also optimize static HTML websites.
Websites that don’t allow you to directly work on speed optimization (e.g. SquareSpace, Wix, Weebly) can’t be fully optimized, but we can help optimize these sites as much as possible with some creative methods.
Since SquareSpace (and other similar websites, e.g. Wix) tend to have rigid designs meant for non-coders, there isn’t much room to inject the proper code/fixes needed to speed up your site. They also force you to use their own servers that they cram everyone on, which can be very slow and VERY expensive!
Luckily, there are some steps you can take to ensure your site will load in the fastest time possible without switching over to another platform. We will help walk you through these steps to ensure your customers have an excellent experience with your website.
If you do decide to transfer your site over to another platform such as WordPress, let us know and we will help migrate your site!
If we optimize your site and it still loads slowly, your server is most likely to blame. We personally had this issue when we were using Host Gator. Our site was optimized to the absolute max, but our server was taking almost 2 seconds to respond!
When you test your website on Page Speed Insights, check to see what your server response time is. If it is taking more than 1 second, you are losing customers and money!
We can help you choose the best server for your website’s needs based on price point, traffic, and website platform type.
